Our origins are unique, as unique is the territory in which Ricchi winery was born.
The fascinating etymology of the name Ricchi dates back to the latin language; RICHINUS was a wild and difficult territory to farm.
Way back in 1815 the “27 Pertiche” (unit of measurement used by the ancient Romans) named RICHI, were classified as “Zerbi”, dry and sterile fields.
The morainic hills classification would have dissuaded anybody to invest in it; but didn’t hinder the foresight of Enrico Stefanoni, the great great grandfather of the current property, who planted vineyards, obtaining excellent wines, which today make Ricchi winery a corner of Paradise.
